Emergency contraception is available to those who may be at risk of an unplanned
pregnancy because of failed or inadequate contraception. See the doctor as soon as possible - you will be offered an 'emergency' appointment the same day if you let your receptionist know why you need to be seen. Emergency contraception may be supplied up to five days after the event, not just the 'morning after', but it is more effective the sooner it is taken.
