Emergency contraception
This is available to those who may be at risk of an unplanned pregnancy because of failed or inadequate contraception. See the doctor as soon as possible - you will be offered an 'emergency' appointment the same day if you let the receptionist know why you need to be seen.
Emergency contraception may be supplied up to five days after the event, not just the 'morning after'.
There is a 24 hour emergency contraception advice line provided by local family planning services tel 01942 778 615.
Some pharmacies are also able to supply emergency contraception.
