Dr Weems is Leigh PCN’s Cancer Lead and on 18th October he attended the Greater Manchester Cancer Conference Awards.
The collaboration work between GM Cancer alliance and the 66 GM Networks on early cancer diagnosis (including Dr Weems involvement within Leigh PCN on FIT in colorectal referrals in Leigh) won an award in the collaboration category.
The award was presented by Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham.
The award recognises the efforts of all those involved in the collaboration to progress early cancer diagnosis in primary care and the benefits that this has and will continue to bring.
